Can I reclaim charges if my bank account is closed?
13 October 2009
Yes you can. Bank charges can be reclaimed
up to six years previous but no further back than this time.
The six years is not arbitrary but rarther bound by the
Statute of Limitation in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Such a Statute goes right back to very early law. It is
still employed in order to prevent cases from going on
indefinitely. With fixed parameters in order to resolve a
case, all parties can work to deadlines with a final endpoint
where no further challenges can be argued.
