Q&A
Why should I use Challengeyour.com ?
Of course, you are free to pursue an unfair credit card charge claim on your own. However, the process can be very frustrating and requires perseverance; we will deal with all aspects of the claim and make it completely hassle free for you. We have extensive experience in challenging the financial institutions, who can often be difficult and uncooperative.
If I have been charged for exceeding my agreed limit or for missing a payment, can I still claim this back even though I was at fault?
Yes!
How long is the process likely to take?
For credit card claims and business account claims we can expect to receive compensation within six weeks of us receiving your statements from either you or the bank/credit card provider.
Will this process affect my credit rating?
No, it will not have any affect on your credit rating.
What do you claim back on my behalf?
We claim back all penalty charges plus any interest you have lost as a result of paying them. These include, for example, any unfair charge the bank or credit card provider imposes for going over your limit, or for a late payment.
How much does your service cost?
We will only invoice you when all credit card charges and interest have been agreed and refunded. The fee that will be taken is 20% + VAT (24% in total) of the amount paid back to you.
Can I claim for credit card charges that are more than six years old?
No. You can only reclaim the last six years worth of charges, due to what’s called the ‘statute of limitations’; and technically the date this starts is when you submit a claim. It is therefore crucial that you send in your unfair credit card charge claim to us immediately.
My account is closed, can I still claim?
Yes. As long as the account was open within the past six years, and you have a record of the account number, or credit card number, we can claim any charges back that were debited from your account within the past six years.
I get charged a monthly fee for having my account. Can I claim this back too?
No. Banks and credit card providers are allowed to charge for an agreed service that is provided.
Is there a limit to the amount that I can claim?
No, there is no limit. You are allowed to claim back whatever is rightfully yours, no matter how much that is.
Will the bank or credit card provider ring or contact me?
They shouldn’t contact you, as you will have given us authority to act on your behalf. If they do send you any letters concerning your claim then please forward them to us.
Could the bank or credit card provider close my account?
It is highly unlikely and extremely rare. Out of the hundreds of thousands of claims that have been settled, only a handful have had their accounts closed. You should be aware, however, that you are their customer and they have the right to choose if they want to keep you as one.
How do I know my information is safe with your company?
As a registered member of the I.C.O we take data protection very seriously. Please take a look at our Privacy Policy.
